Fuel Supply Monitor (FSM)

Monitors the aircraft fuel situation mainly to annunciate developing supply problems. Keeps track of up to 4 individual tanks - quantities, flows, pressures, pumps, totalizations.

A typical single header with multiple feeder fuel tank configuration is shown below:

Key Features

  • The FSM is able to read all 4 fuel-quantity probes, 3 fuel-flow sensors, 3 fuel-pump power signals, and one fuel pressure transducer (shown above).
  • It drives up to 5 warnings/alerts on your annunciation panel:

    • Warns you when one (or more) of the 3 fuel pumps produces less than acceptable fuel flow, indicating either pump failure, fuel-line blockage or an empty-tank situation.

    • Warns you when the fuel pressure drops below an acceptable value, indicating possible boost-pump failure.

    • Warns you when the header tank level drops below its full state, indicating a low fuel situation.

  • The FSM can connect to the FSM-PD (Panel-Display) in order to display all fuel information inside the cockpit.
  • It provides separate fuel totalization on each of the 3 feeder tanks. You can set fuel quantities on each tank via our FSM-PD (Panel-Display) and the FSM will keep track as fuel is used.
  • The FSM can send fuel information over RS-232 stream to other devices (such as GNS430).
  • The FSM can be customized for other fuel configurations.

Optional Panel-Display

Two standard sizes are available:

These instruments link to a FSM via CAN-bus (Controller Area Network) and display all fuel system information gathered by the FSM.

The 1st page displays the following real-time parameters:

  • FUEL - totalized fuel quantity in all but header tank (GAL)
  • FLOW - total fuel flow rate from all but header tank (GPH)
  • PRES - fuel pressure between header and engine (PSI)
  • RESV - fuel quantity mapped according to level in header tank (GAL)

The 2nd page displays more detail for all but the header tank:
  • FUEL - totalized fuel quantities of left, center and right main tanks (GAL)
  • FLOW - fuel flow rates of left, center and right main tanks (GPH)
  • LEVEL - fuel tank levels of left, center and right main tanks (GAL)
  • TANK - fuel pump activation of left, center and right tanks (ON/OFF)

Other features include:

  • Toggle switch for paging and menu selection
  • 128 x 64 pixel graphics liquid crystal display
  • Integrated display brightness and contrast control
  • Field programmable and configurable from laptop computer
  • Integrated RS232 interface for expandable functionality
  • Rugged anodized exterior milled from solid aluminium
